The first French Queen Convention, We Lille Rock You, will take place on Saturday, November 26, obviously in Lille, as clearly expressed in the event's name. Lille is situated in the Hauts de France.
We will pay tribute all day long to Queen, needless to say to Freddie Mercury as well, but moreover to all of us, the fans!
We are organizing this very special event in Grand Sud Hall, Lille. it is a very cosy venue, able to host such an event as We Lille Rock You!
Lille is at the crossroads between Paris (1 hour away), Brussels (30 minutes), London (1h30) and Amsterdam (2h30)! You can access the town easily by train (2 stations available), by car or by plane. No matter where you are travelling from, you will find an access to join us and we will welcome you with open arms, living up to our Northern France reputation.
During the day, prestigious guests, friends and people having collaborated with Freddie, Brian, Roger and John, will take the stage one after the other and talk about their experience around our four idols.
You don't speak English (or not so well) ? Not to worry! The guests conferences will be translated on the spot and you will not miss a word and will be able to communicate with them easily!
Autograph sessions will be held after each conference so that you can go back home with some great souvenir and even spend some time with very emblematic protagonists of the Queen Universe!
Known to Queen fans for his song The Man From Manhattan and his eponymous album, recorded in 1975 at the same time as the sessions of the album A Night At The Opera, Eddie collaborated with Freddie Mercury (who produced the song, played piano and sang backing vocals) and Brian May (who played guitar and sang backing vocals as well).
Eddie will tell us about his experience in the studio with Freddie and Brian and will perform his song!
Craig will do us the honor of coming from Brisbane, Australia, especially to participate in We Lille Rock You!
French and International authors will be there to present their books dedicated or inspired by Queen. A real opportunity to add to your collection a personalised autograph.
During the day, original records, promo stuff and other rarities that you have probably never heard of will be displayed by collectors - the type of things that will make your knowledge of Queen more complete.
Between the guest's conferences, come and take part in the cosplay or moustache contests or just impress us with your best air guitar solos - Something for each and everyone!
No, you are not dreaming ! A lottery opened to everyone with a chance to win no less than Brian May's mythical guitar: the Red Special!
Of course, not the real one but a replica from the Brian May Guitars brand.
With this guitar worth £815 in hands, no more excuses, you will be able to produce THE same Brian May sound as all the tribute bands, the guitarists of the We will Rock You musical, and even, Brian May's himself . This exceptional prize is a must-have piece for each and every Queen fan.
Numerous other prizes will be available to win.
Beyond the simple pleasure to gather amongst fans and share our passion, We Lille Rock You aims at supporting the The Mercury Phoenix Trust Foundation.
The Mercury Phoenix Trust was launched at the same time as the Freddie Mercury Tribute Concert in 1992 to fight Aids worldly with original members such as Brian May, Roger Taylor, Jim Beach and Mary Austin.
Although the MPT supports major NGOs and well-known charities, a large part of the funds go directly to small local organisations that can be overlooked by big charities. This is how MPT makes the difference. Over 93% of the funds are allocated to projects around the world and all in all, MPT has funded more than 1500 projects in 57 countries, giving more than 17 million USD worldwide to fight against AIDS.
